HYPNOSIS FOR MOTIVATION

Often, when your levels of self-confidence and self-esteem are not where they should be, the world can appear to be a challenge to navigate.  Personal and professional challenges you face can appear overwhelming. This can sometimes leave you feeling unable to move forward in your life. While others seem fully capable of taking advantage of opportunities, you are left on the outside looking in.

While confidence is what provides you with a positive outlook and attitude about yourself, it is your self-motivation that puts that confidence into action. You may struggle to establish concrete, achievable goals, leaving you unable to visualise achieving your dreams.

You may question how success in one area of your life will affect another, leaving you confused about what you want and how to go about getting it. Sometimes, you may feel that you do not have the energy or drive to achieve a particular task such as going to the gym or eating a healthy diet, even if you know it is what you want to do and what is good for you. Often when your self-image is not as positive as you would like it to be, you can begin to self-sabotage your efforts. This can sometimes happen even at the height of your successes. 


WHAT IS SELF-ESTEEM?

By self-esteem we refer to the evaluation which the individual makes and customarily maintains with regard to him or herself: it expresses an attitude of approval or disapproval and indicates the extent to which the individual believes themselves to be capable, significant, successful, and worthy. In short, self-esteem is a personal judgement of worthiness that is expressed in the attitudes the individual holds toward himself.

HOW CAN HYPNOTHERAPY HELP MOTIVATION?

Through the use of suggestions and guided imagery, we can help our clients to diminish any fear of failure. This helps to establish a manageable sequence of tasks needed to attain goals. These tasks include visualising the completion of these goals in a hopeful and positive way. By increasing a person’s energy and enthusiasm for change, our clients begin to realise their full potential and no longer allow obstacles to stand in their way.

Research has demonstrated that hypnotherapy can increase confidence and motivation in a variety of contexts, such as sports performance (Straub & Bowman, 2016), public speaking (Shoenberger et al, 1997) and the promotion of creativity (Bowers, 1979).
